| Capromorelin is classified as an appetite stimulant and is used to increase the appetite of cats experiencing poor appetite or weight loss. It is FDA approved for use in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD) to help them gain weight. Capromorelin is a ghrelin-receptor agonist, or stimulator, which in turn stimulates growth hormone release, causing the feeling of hunger that leads to stimulation of appetite. |
